BEATRICE  DANIELS

THE TEACHER

Beatrice Daniels

For me, drawing and painting are not an art in narrow sense, but became and still are becoming a way of  seeing and understanding the world: a philosophy of life and a way of being.

Observations of aspects  and impressions of nature and cultures and the artistic expression of 'oneself' and the communication with the 'other' are keys to the 'quest' for a way of being in the world.

Each deep observation of aspects of nature, a face, an object, a place, captured in line, form, or color, seems each time the unveiling of a mystery.

My first name 'Beatrice' is etymologically traceable to the latin 'Viatrix' , meaning ' female traveller, voyager'. Writing my 'curriculum vitae' for the 'Workshop Painting 2023' at the resort  Bella Cisterna, Chios, and looking back on my studies, my professional and personal history,I realize that my parents were  surely foresighted by choosing my birthname. And I hope to be your guide on the journey to discover Bella Cisterna, Kampos and Chios on an artistic way..
